Zamalek SC, the Egyptian football giant, has announced that it has successfully cleared all outstanding debts, clearing the path for the registration of new players. The club’s spokesperson, Ahmed Salem, confirmed that the management had paid the registration fees for assistant coaches, ending a long-standing dispute. Salem also revealed that the current administration has cleared a significant amount of debt, a fact that will be made public at a later stage. This financial maneuver comes at a critical time for Zamalek, as they face a severe financial crisis that has hindered their ability to sign new players. Despite ongoing efforts to address the situation, the club acknowledges that resolving the financial challenges requires substantial time and effort. Zamalek officials are eagerly awaiting confirmation from FIFA that their registration is open, allowing them to complete player signings and bolster their squad ahead of the African Super Cup clash against rivals Al Ahly on September 27th. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has granted an exception, extending the registration deadline for both Al Ahly and Zamalek until September 12th.
