The 2024 Gyeongsan Citizen Forum took place on August 30th, where young people from the Gyeongsan region in South Korea presented their policy ideas to the community. Organized by the Gyeongsan Resource Volunteer Center, the forum saw youth directly investigating local institutions and facilities, identifying needs and proposing solutions. Their proposals focused on seven key areas: single-person households, health, environment, foreign residents, companion animals, children, and employment. The most popular proposals included establishing a Physical Gyeongsan 100 program to encourage healthy lifestyles among employees, creating a support center for international students, and launching a citizen volunteer program to reduce childcare burdens. The Gyeongsan City government plans to review these proposals and incorporate them into future policy initiatives.
