Croatian club Hajduk Split has announced the departure of young striker Mateo Bačić, who joins Serie A side Sampdoria. The 19-year-old prospect will play for Sampdoria’s youth team. While Hajduk will not receive a transfer fee, they will retain a percentage of any future transfer fees for Bačić. This move marks Bačić’s first significant step into professional football, having only made a single appearance for Hajduk’s senior team last season. However, he was prolific at youth level, scoring 15 goals in 28 appearances for Hajduk’s junior team.
