An Italian prosecutor is investigating a series of potential human errors that may have led to the capsizing of the luxury yacht Bayesian off the coast of Sicily in August. While details surrounding the incident remain unclear, Giovanni Constantino, CEO of the shipyard Perini Navi, which built the Bayesian, has provided his account of the events. According to Constantino, the crew failed to close a door to the jet ski ramp, causing water to flood the yacht and leading to its sinking. The captain is being investigated for a possible “grave error” in his duties.
