Xiaomi Accused of Misrepresenting Court Ruling in Dispute with Blogger

A Chinese blogger, known online as ‘Xiao Suan Miao Chang,’ has accused Xiaomi’s legal department of misrepresenting the outcome of a recent defamation lawsuit. Following a court decision that found the blogger guilty of defaming Xiaomi, the company issued a statement claiming victory. However, the blogger maintains that the statement is misleading and that they accept the court’s verdict but not Xiaomi’s interpretation of the ruling. The blogger has called on the Beijing Internet Court to publicly release the full details of the judgment. Earlier reports revealed that the court ordered the blogger to remove their defamatory remarks, issue a public apology to Xiaomi for seven consecutive days, and pay damages amounting to 56,595 yuan (approximately $8,000 USD).
