A woman in Manhattan miraculously survived a harrowing fall from the roof of a 10-story building after landing on the back of a pickup truck. The 31-year-old woman leapt from The Christopher, a supportive housing facility in Chelsea, around 1:36 p.m. on Thursday. Witnesses reported seeing the woman jump from the roof, landing on the bedrail of a black Ram pickup truck parked below. The truck’s owner, who was inside the vehicle at the time, told reporters he was shocked to see the woman land on his truck. Emergency responders rushed the woman to Bellevue Hospital, where she was treated for her injuries and reported to be in stable condition. The Christopher, a 207-unit facility, provides permanent housing for low-income individuals and those living with HIV or AIDS.
