Tajikistan, despite being a landlocked country, presents a significant opportunity for Iranian businesses, especially those from North Khorasan and Razavi Khorasan, according to a trade advisor from the Iranian embassy. The advisor, Mohammadali Amir Fakhrina, emphasized the potential for exporting steel and petrochemical products from Iran to Tajikistan, highlighting the country’s strategic location for facilitating trade with other nations. He also noted that Tajikistan’s reliance on remittances from Russia creates a lucrative pathway for Iranian businesses to access the Russian market. Additionally, Tajikistan’s abundant water resources, suitable for large-scale agriculture, coupled with its emphasis on hydropower, presents promising avenues for investment. The advisor underscored Tajikistan’s ambitions to become a regional transportation hub, exemplified by its participation in the Belt and Road Initiative.
