A Palestinian man was shot and killed by Israeli settlers in the West Bank, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health. The ministry identified the victim as Khalil Salem Khalawi, 40, who died after being shot in the village of Wadi Rahal, south of Bethlehem. Three other Palestinians were injured in the incident. The head of the Wadi Rahal village council, Hamdi Ziada, reported that Israeli settlers had attacked residents’ homes near a boys’ school, firing live rounds. He added that Israeli forces entered the village to protect the settlers and fired tear gas and sound bombs at Palestinians, leading to dozens of cases of suffocation. The number of Palestinian fatalities in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, has now risen to 651 since October 7th, 2023.
