Wang Huning Chairs National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Meeting

The 23rd Chairman’s Meeting of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) was held in Beijing on August 30th. Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the CPPCC, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. The meeting focused on studying and implementing the spirit of recent important speeches and instructions by Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee. Wang Huning emphasized that the CPPCC should actively participate in deepening reform and promoting Chinese-style modernization by leveraging its role as a specialized consultative body. He also stressed the importance of the CPPCC’s role in promoting economic development and cultural confidence, as well as contributing to the development of a strong sports nation and a healthy China. The meeting approved the agenda and schedule for the 9th Session of the Standing Committee of the 14th National Committee of the CPPCC, scheduled to take place in Beijing from October 9th to 11th.
