The United States has reiterated its strong support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and multi-ethnic character of Bosnia and Herzegovina, warning of continued sanctions against those involved in undermining the Dayton Agreement. Assistant Secretary of State James O’Brien stated that the US will utilize all available tools, including sanctions, to hold accountable individuals engaged in anti-Dayton, corrupt, or anti-democratic activities, including Milorad Dodik and his supporters. These actions, O’Brien emphasized, harm the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, including those in Republika Srpska (RS), and must cease. Those involved, along with those providing material support, will face sanctions. The US embassy has explained the risks of these sanctions to all relevant parties, aligning with the US approach globally.
