The 24-year-old striker, known for his physicality and goal-scoring prowess, joins the Bundesliga team in search of playing time after a significant injury hampered his development at Lille. The German club refrained from disclosing details regarding a potential permanent transfer or contract duration. Ilic, standing at 1.89 meters tall, boasts an impressive scoring record from his previous stints in Norway and Latvia. He has accumulated 65 goals and 22 assists in 169 professional appearances. Reports indicate that Union Berlin was also pursuing striker Ragnar Ache from second division club 1. FC Kaiserslautern. However, a deal between the two clubs failed to materialize.
