Fifty-six Ukrainian children, who spent the summer with families in Valencia as part of the ‘Vacations in Peace’ program organized by the Juntos por la Vida Foundation, will return to their country this Sunday. The children, aged 6 to 17, were hosted by families who provided them with care and a safe haven from the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. The children come from areas near the Belarusian border, including Ivankiv, which was attacked at the beginning of the invasion and is now facing the threat of a second invasion. Others come from Irpin, Bucha, and Kharkiv. They will travel by bus from Valencia to their villages, a journey that will take three days. The bus will also carry medicine collected for two centers run by Juntos por la Vida in Ukraine, which provide aid to over 600 families in rural areas, as well as elderly people who are bedridden and unable to move. Medicine is becoming scarce in their warehouses, and a call for basic medicine has been launched.
