Following the tragic crash of a Ukrainian F-16 fighter jet during a mission against Russian forces, President Volodymyr Zelensky has dismissed the commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, Mykola Oleshchuk. The incident occurred on Monday during a major Russian offensive, resulting in the death of the pilot. General-Lieutenant Anatoliy Kryvonogka has been appointed as the temporary replacement. Zelensky, while expressing gratitude to the pilots, cited the need to strengthen command structures and ensure personnel safety as reasons for the decision. While the Ukrainian military has not disclosed the cause of the crash, Oleshchuk has confirmed that US partners are assisting with the investigation.
