Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has dismissed Mykola Oleshchuk, the commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, following a fatal F-16 crash that is currently under investigation. The decision comes amidst a growing need for a stronger command structure to protect personnel. Lieutenant General Anatoliy Kryvonozhko, formerly head of the Air Force Command Center, has been appointed as the interim commander. Zelensky emphasized the importance of strengthening leadership and safeguarding troops, acknowledging the significant sacrifices made by pilots, maintenance crews, and other personnel. While acknowledging the tragedy, Oleshchuk stated that the Air Force is not concealing information about the recent accident.
