Kyiv Oblast, Ukraine, is planning to install 14 cogeneration units across seven communities, with a combined capacity exceeding 27 MW. This initiative, aimed at bolstering the region’s energy resilience, is part of a larger plan to install nearly 80 MW of new cogeneration capacity. The installation of these units will occur in four districts – Obukhiv, Fastiv, Vyshgorod, and Bila Tserkva. These plans come after the signing of agreements for the installation of 19 units with a total capacity of 50 MW in eight settlements in Vyshgorod, Bucha, and Brovary districts. The Kyiv Oblast Administration, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, is working to streamline the connection of cogeneration units to gas and electricity networks. This initiative reflects the need for swift and effective measures to ensure consistent access to heat and electricity amidst ongoing threats to energy infrastructure.
