The UEFA Europa League is adopting a new format for the 2024-25 season, ditching the traditional group stage and introducing a league-style competition. This exciting change will see 36 teams compete in a single league, with each team facing eight opponents, four home and four away. The top eight teams will automatically qualify for the Round of 16. Teams ranked 9th to 24th will compete in a play-off round for a shot at the Round of 16, while the remaining teams will be eliminated. The competition will transition to a knockout format after the league stage, with two-legged ties deciding the winner of each round. The UEFA Europa League final will be held on May 21, 2025, at the San Mames Stadium in Bilbao, Spain.
