Two Dead, Three Missing After Helicopter Crash in Portugal

Two people were killed and three remain missing after a helicopter returning from a firefighting mission crashed into the Douro River in northern Portugal on Tuesday, according to Portuguese authorities. The pilot was rescued alive by a tourist boat near the crash site and transported to a hospital. The helicopter was carrying five people in total, including the pilot and four specialists from an emergency response team. The bodies of two individuals were found in the wreckage, while three remain unaccounted for. Search and rescue efforts are underway in the area, including underwater searches near the helicopter and along the riverbanks. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation. Prime Minister Luis Montenegro visited the scene, where dozens of emergency personnel, marine police, divers, and two air force helicopters were involved in the response.
