Turkish footballer Ferdi Kadıoğlu has joined Premier League side Brighton from Fenerbahçe, where he spent seven seasons. The transfer fee was agreed at €30 million, with Brighton potentially paying an additional €5 million in bonuses. However, a surprising detail emerged: Kadıoğlu’s former club, NEC Nijmegen, also received a share of the transfer. According to the agreement between Fenerbahçe and Brighton, NEC Nijmegen received €3.5 million, representing 10% of the transfer fee, along with an additional €500,000 in solidarity payments from FIFA. Fenerbahçe, in turn, covered this payment to Brighton as part of the transfer agreement, securing the full €30 million transfer fee for themselves.
