Turkey’s first domestically developed supersonic jet trainer, the Hürjet, is gearing up for a prominent display at the Egypt International Airshow. Developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) under the coordination of the Presidency of Defence Industries, Hürjet is attracting global attention, particularly from Egypt, which is actively seeking a new supersonic trainer aircraft. The aircraft, which made its maiden flight in April 2023, is scheduled to perform a flight demonstration at the airshow, showcasing its advanced capabilities. The Egyptian government’s interest in Hürjet stems from its ongoing search for a new generation of training aircraft, highlighting the potential for a lucrative export deal for Turkey. The airshow, renowned as a major platform for the aviation and defence industries in the Middle East and North Africa, will bring together leading industry players, defence professionals, and technology enthusiasts. With its focus on establishing new partnerships and exploring regional markets, the event will witness the unveiling of products and technologies from global manufacturers such as Boeing, Airbus, Lockheed Martin, and Dassault Aviation. The airshow will also feature captivating aerial displays by world-famous aerobatic teams, military air forces, and various aircraft.
