The Tunisian administrative court has reinstated presidential candidate, Emad Daimi, to the race for the upcoming presidential elections on October 6. This decision follows a legal challenge by Daimi, who had been initially disqualified by the electoral commission. Daimi, the vice president of the ‘Al-Hirak’ party led by former president Moncef Marzouki, is known for his strong criticism of the current president, Kais Saied. His reinstatement marks the third time a candidate has been reinstated by the court after being disqualified for allegedly lacking the necessary endorsements. The other two candidates, Abdel Latif Mekki and Mounir Znaidi, were also initially rejected but subsequently allowed to contest the election.
