Former US President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has renewed his hardline stance on immigration, warning of a surge of migrants crossing the US border and vowing to abolish the Department of Education if he wins the upcoming election. Speaking at the annual gathering of the ‘Mothers for Liberty’ conference in Washington, Trump highlighted the issue of undocumented minors entering the US, claiming over 300,000 children have crossed illegally and remain unaccounted for. He placed the blame for this situation on the Biden administration, holding President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris responsible for the fate of these children. Regarding education, Trump reiterated his commitment to dismantling the Department of Education, transferring its authority to states and counties. He pledged to give parents a greater role in shaping education policies in the US. The ‘Mothers for Liberty’ organization has gained prominence in recent years, advocating for conservative educational policies and supporting Trump’s agenda. The organization has invited Vice President Harris to the conference but has not received any response.
