The poll, the second major national survey after the Democratic National Convention, shows no clear leader. In a head-to-head matchup, Harris receives 48% of the vote compared to Trump’s 47%, among registered voters. Even when including independent and third-party candidates, the results remain close, with Harris securing 47% and Trump 45%. Both margins fall within the survey’s 2.5-point margin of error. The poll highlights a growing enthusiasm among Democrats for Harris, with 90% expressing support, compared to 82% of Republicans for Trump. Trump’s favorability rating leans negative, with 45% favorable and 53% unfavorable. Harris’s favorability rating is more evenly split, with 49% favorable and 49% unfavorable. The poll also found that 84% of voters believe they know enough about Harris’s political career and positions to form a strong opinion, while 15% feel they need more information. A majority (52%) of voters believe Harris will largely continue the policies and approach of the Biden administration, while 41% anticipate new ideas and leadership from her. Regarding Trump’s style and approach, 56% believe he hinders the necessary change, while 37% think he’s needed for the desired shift. The poll was conducted between August 24-28 through phone and online surveys involving 1,500 registered voters nationwide. Results have a margin of error of plus or minus 2.5 percentage points.
