The Rach Mieu Bridge, connecting the provinces of Tien Giang and Ben Tre in Vietnam, has been subjected to a one-way traffic system to prioritize vehicles traveling from Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces in the Southeast region returning home for the 2-9 holiday. The bridge, designed for 6,000 vehicles per day, has seen a significant surge in traffic volume, exceeding capacity by three times. To alleviate congestion, authorities have implemented one-way traffic, alternating directions to manage the influx of vehicles. The bridge is expected to see heavy traffic throughout the holiday, particularly during evening hours when factory workers and employees head back to their families. With an estimated 26,000 vehicles expected to cross the bridge daily during the four-day holiday period, authorities have formed a coordination team across multiple agencies to ensure smooth traffic flow.
