Three young girls, ages seven, five, and two, were killed in a tragic landslide in Jiutepec, Morelos, Mexico. The incident occurred in the Jardín Juárez neighborhood, located at the foot of a hill, when a retaining wall, supported by car tires, collapsed due to heavy rains. The wall had weakened from the downpour that occurred overnight Friday into Saturday, as predicted by the State Water Commission. The bodies of the three girls, identified as Aideé, Danny, and Nataly, were recovered by emergency responders after a multi-hour search operation. Neighbors reported that the landslide occurred around 3:00 AM, and debris from the collapsed wall impacted a nearby house, burying the girls in their bedroom. Local authorities, including the mayor of Jiutepec, David Ortiz, expressed their condolences to the family and emphasized the importance of monitoring weather forecasts and taking necessary precautions in the event of heavy rainfall.
