The historic ‘Government Palace’ of Thessaloniki, a landmark that has witnessed momentous occasions in Greece’s past, is experiencing a revival. After 18 years of neglect, the building, also known as the ‘Palace,’ will be transformed into a public space, offering a glimpse into its rich history. The Palace served as the official residence of various high-ranking officials, including the Prime Minister, hosting dignitaries like Valéry Giscard d’Estaing in 1975. It was also the site of lavish receptions hosted by Andreas Papandreou, former Prime Minister of Greece. The Palace’s transformation marks a new chapter, breathing life back into a structure that once reflected the power and grandeur of a bygone era.
