The Football Association of Thailand has announced the 23-player squad for the LPBANK CUP 2024, a tournament taking place in Hanoi, Vietnam, from September 5-10. Notably absent from the roster are several key players, including Theerathorn Bunmathan, Sarach Yooyen, Chanathip Songkrasin, and Teerasil Dangda. Coach Masatada Ishii opted for a younger team, featuring players like Jonatan Khemdee and Ekanit Panya, aiming to provide opportunities for them to prove themselves before the upcoming ASEAN tournament. Ishii explained that he chose to include Ekanit after observing his recent training performance and discussing his commitment to the national team. He also praised Jonatan’s performance as a central defender in a three-back system, highlighting his potential.
