Taipei Mayor and ‘National Grandma’ Advocate for Dementia Awareness

Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an and renowned Taiwanese actress Chen Shu-fang, known as ‘National Grandma,’ participated in a flash mob event to promote dementia awareness. Mayor Chiang emphasized the increasing prevalence of dementia in Taipei due to the city’s rapidly aging population, stressing the importance of supporting those affected by the condition in maintaining their daily lives. He acknowledged the challenges faced by families caring for dementia patients, as these individuals gradually lose familiar skills. The event aimed to raise awareness of dementia, provide guidance on prevention, and educate people on how to assist those affected.
