Swedish midfielder Kristoffer Olsson, who was hospitalized in February due to a rare inflammatory blood vessel disease, has announced his return home after six months of treatment. Olsson, who plays for Danish club FC Midtjylland, lost consciousness at his home in February before being taken to Aarhus University Hospital where he was put on a ventilator. He was later transferred to a rehabilitation center. Tests revealed multiple blood clots in his brain, causing speech and motor function impairments. However, Olsson regained his speech and motor function in mid-April. While Olsson has not announced a return date to professional football, he previously expressed his intention to play again. In May, he joined his team on the pitch to celebrate FC Midtjylland’s Danish Championship victory, arriving in a golf cart to cheers from the crowd. Olsson, who began his professional career with Arsenal in 2013, has also played for AIK (Stockholm), Krasnodar (Russia), and Anderlecht (Belgium).
