Suteiya Tal, located in the Bajnath Rural Municipality of Nepal, is quickly becoming a favorite spot for domestic tourists. Situated near the Ratna Highway, approximately 6 kilometers north of Kohalpur, the lake’s natural beauty makes it an ideal spot for picnics, wildlife watching, and enjoying the tranquility of the surrounding forest. The lake, covering an area of around seven hectares, has been carefully protected and preserved by the Deurali Janasrita Madhyavartee Samajik Ban Upbhokta Samuha for the past decade. This community-driven effort has led to an increase in wildlife sightings, including tigers, deer, and wild boars, making it a wildlife enthusiast’s paradise. While the potential for tourism development around Suteiya Tal is significant, the lack of local investment in infrastructure hampers its full potential. Local residents express concerns about the lack of accommodation and dining facilities, which limit the tourist experience. Recognizing the importance of the lake for tourism, the Bajnath Rural Municipality has allocated funds for its development, including plans to construct a dam around the lake to further enhance its beauty and protect its ecosystem.
