A special committee has been formed to investigate land disputes surrounding the Vallalar International Center in Vadalur, Tamil Nadu, following a court order. The Tamil Nadu government has allocated ₹99.90 crore for the construction of the center, with work commencing in February. However, various political parties and public organizations have raised concerns about the proposed location of the center in an open space. Following a legal challenge, the Madras High Court ordered the formation of a committee to investigate land ownership and identify any encroachments. The committee, led by the Cuddalore District Collector, includes revenue officials, surveyors, and representatives from the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department. The committee is tasked with examining land records, identifying encroachments, and clearing any unauthorized structures on the land owned by Vallalar’s trust.
