Sonsoles Ónega, a renowned journalist and member of the Top 100 Women Leaders, will be awarded the title of ‘Adopted Daughter’ of Pozuelo de Alarcón, Spain, on September 2nd. The municipality will recognize her for her extensive career in communication, her journalistic achievements, and her recent prestigious Planeta Award. The event will be presided over by Mayor Paloma Tejero and includes other awards, such as the ‘Medal of Merit’ to José Granizo Castillo for his contributions to the city’s cultural and religious life, and the same award to the city’s National Police in recognition of their 200th anniversary. Ónega’s accomplishments include her current role as host of ‘Y ahora Sonsoles’ on Antena 3, her previous decade as a parliamentary correspondent for Telecinco, and her successful writing career with novels like ‘Calle Habana, esquina Obispo’, ‘Donde Dios no estuvo’, and ‘Despues del amor’. She has also been honored with the Antena de Plata, Premio Letras de Novela corta, Premio Fernando Lara de Novela, and the prestigious Planeta Award.
