The Sirsa Municipal Council has taken action against the illegal display of political posters, banners, and flex boards in the city. A team from the council removed these unauthorized advertisements from public spaces like C-Block entrance and Raniya Road. In addition, they painted over election campaign-related wall paintings on Dabwali Road. This action comes after the Election Commission of India imposed a code of conduct ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. The code prohibits political parties and candidates from using government institutions and offices for campaigning purposes. Despite this, many political parties and individuals were found displaying their campaign materials on public property. Following a report published by Amar Ujala, which highlighted the issue of blatant disregard for the code of conduct, the administration took action and dispatched a team to remove the illegal posters. The team has been actively working to ensure compliance with the code of conduct.
