SFO’s Bomb-Sniffing Dog Wins TSA’s Cutest Canine Contest

Barni, a 5-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer and explosives detection dog at San Francisco International Airport (SFO), has won the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) 2024 Cutest Canine Contest. Barni, who works alongside his handler Michelle Cogle, was chosen after a week of online voting. While Barni is a dedicated security professional, he’s also a playful pup who loves fetch and chasing squirrels when off-duty. As the winner, Barni will be featured on the cover of the TSA’s 2025 Canine Calendar, which will be released in December.
