Serbia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Ivica Dačić, met with Matilda Mort, the UN Coordinator in Serbia. Dačić informed Mort about the activities of the Ministry of Interior, emphasizing the strong support for multilateralism and the principles of the UN Charter. He highlighted Serbia’s commitment to fulfilling its obligations and reporting on relevant issues within its jurisdiction. Dačić and Mort discussed collaborations on issues like light and small arms control, migration management, combatting migrant smuggling and human trafficking, strengthening disaster resilience, and tackling various forms of crime. Dačić highlighted the good working relationship between the Serbian Ministry of Interior and numerous UN bodies, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and communication with the UN Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK), particularly in safeguarding the security of Serbs in Kosovo. He expressed gratitude for UN donations to the Ministry of Interior, which are instrumental in implementing various plans and projects.
