Semes, a leading semiconductor equipment company, announced its partnership with the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers (KSME) for the 9th KSOIC (Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers-Semes Open Innovation Challenge) competition. The event, taking place on November 7th at the Jeju ICC (International Convention Center), is a prestigious competition that encourages innovation in mechanical engineering. KSOIC serves as a platform for presenting research papers on cutting-edge technologies like semiconductor and display equipment, precision sensors, and advanced manufacturing processes. The competition, which began in 2016, aims to foster the development of groundbreaking ideas and solutions that can contribute to future technological advancements. This year, a total of 58 proposals were received from 25 universities and research institutions across South Korea. These proposals covered various areas, including production facilities, CAE technology, measurement and control systems, thermal and fluid dynamics, and AI-driven solutions. The competition evaluates entries based on criteria such as problem definition, originality, feasibility, and expected impact. Winners are selected across multiple categories, including a Grand Prize, Gold Awards, and other prizes.
