The Epidemiology Sub-Directorate of the Health Secretariat announced that the State Laboratory received the results from the Institute for Epidemiological Diagnosis and Reference (InDRE) for the second suspected case of monkeypox in Ciudad Juárez, which came back negative. Gumaro Barrios Gallegos, subdirector of the area, reported that this is the second negative result recorded in Chihuahua. Currently, there are no suspected cases of this condition in the state. The public was advised to seek medical attention at the nearest health facility if they experience symptoms such as fever, muscle pain, fatigue, headache, and swollen lymph nodes. People who have recently traveled, had direct contact with someone infected or suspected of having contracted the disease, are urged to be aware of these symptoms. Barrios Gallegos emphasized the importance of maintaining basic hygiene measures, including frequent handwashing and cleaning and disinfecting common areas in homes and workplaces.
