A gray seal, known to be a regular visitor to the Portuguese coastline, is currently enjoying a vacation in the country. The seal, first spotted in July, has been seen in Cascais, Estoril, and is now exploring the Arrábida area and the port of Setúbal. The Institute for Nature Conservation (ICNF) has issued a plea to the public, urging them to maintain a respectful distance and avoid disturbing the animal during its stay. The seal is a wild creature and may react defensively if it feels threatened. While photographs are permitted, it’s crucial to ensure these are taken from a safe distance, without approaching or attempting to interact with the animal.
