Saudi Arabia will host the 2024 Multi-Lateral Industrial Policy Forum (MIPF), organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), in October. The event reflects the Kingdom’s significant industrial transformation, driven by its Vision 2030 goals to expand its industrial base and become a leading global manufacturing center. Saudi Arabia has launched numerous initiatives and programs to promote industrial development, innovation, and diversification, including the National Strategy for Industry, which identifies 12 strategic industrial sectors for growth and competitiveness. Alongside these initiatives, the Kingdom has invested heavily in developing industrial infrastructure, including industrial cities and special economic zones, and fostered international collaborations to transfer knowledge and technology. The MIPF provides a platform for sharing expertise and best practices in industrial policy, with experts and decision-makers from around the world participating. Saudi Arabia aims to develop policies aligned with international standards to enhance the competitiveness of its industrial sector and drive sustainable manufacturing practices through international collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the adoption of environmentally friendly technologies. The Kingdom also seeks to strengthen its position as a key player in global supply chains through its National Initiative for Global Supply Chains, aimed at boosting its role as a leading center in global supply chains.
