Five São Paulo players will represent the Brazilian club at the wake of Uruguayan defender Juan Izquierdo, who passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest during a Copa Libertadores match against São Paulo. The wake will be held on Thursday at the headquarters of Nacional in Montevideo, Uruguay. São Paulo players Rafinha, Michael Araújo, Wellington Rato, Galoppo, and Calleri, along with vice-president Harry Massis, will travel to Montevideo on Thursday morning. The São Paulo players were deeply affected by Izquierdo’s passing. Calleri delivered a heartfelt message on behalf of the team after the match, while Araújo was visibly emotional after learning of the tragic news. As a mark of respect, São Paulo players wore jerseys bearing Izquierdo’s name during their Copa do Brasil match against Atlético-MG.
