Santarem Mayor Steps Down to Lead Portuguese Sports Institute

The mayor of Santarem, Ricardo Goncalves, has announced that he will be stepping down from his position to take on the role of president of the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth (IPDJ). The decision was made following a formal invitation from the IPDJ to Goncalves, who is a member of the Social Democratic Party. During his absence, the vice-president of the Santarem City Council, Joao Teixeira Leite, will assume the role of mayor.
