Santa Cruz Hosts ‘From Field to Pot’ Fair to Combat Price Gouging

The ‘Del Campo a la Olla’ (‘From Field to Pot’) fair launched in Santa Cruz’s Plan 3.000 neighborhood, offering a variety of food products at producer prices. The fair serves as an alternative to combat price gouging and speculation in the market. Organized by the Ministry of Rural Development and Lands (MDRyT), the fair provides access to fresh vegetables, tubers, fruits, meat, eggs, fish, dairy products, and basic staples like rice, sugar, flour, and oil, all at fair prices. Held in the El Mechero plaza, the fair is open until 6:00 PM, featuring local producers from across Santa Cruz. The initiative is designed to address concerns about rising food costs and provide consumers with a reliable source of affordable food.
