A resident of Kostomuksha, Karelia, has been banned from leaving Russia by a court order. The decision was made following a request from a bank, which claimed the individual owed over 147,000 rubles. This is not the first instance of travel restrictions imposed on debtors in the region. Earlier this year, a young father from Petrozavodsk was similarly restricted for accumulating over 800,000 rubles in child support debt. The court order effectively prohibits the individual from leaving the country until the full amount of the loan is repaid.
