A Reuters journalist, Ivan Lyubysh-Kirdey, is in critical condition after a Russian missile strike on a hotel in Kramatorsk, Ukraine, on Saturday. Lyubysh-Kirdey was part of a team of six Reuters journalists covering the war in Ukraine who were staying at the hotel when it was hit. Ryan Evans, a security officer, was killed in the attack. Another Reuters journalist, Daniel Pelechchuk, was injured, and the three remaining members of the team are still missing. Lyubysh-Kirdey, 40, has worked for Reuters since 2022. Previously, he worked for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. A father of one, he is a Ukrainian citizen and was awarded the Order of Merit by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in 2022 for his contributions to journalism.
