A new study has revealed a concerning link between recreational drug use and increased risk of serious cardiovascular events, particularly among patients with a history of heart problems. The study, which will be presented at a medical conference in London, found that individuals admitted to intensive cardiac care units who had recently used recreational drugs were significantly more likely to experience another cardiovascular incident, including death, within a year. This discovery highlights the importance of doctors closely monitoring patients’ recreational drug use, especially those with pre-existing heart conditions.
