French defender Nordi Mukiele has joined Bayer Leverkusen on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, the reigning French champions announced. Mukiele, who arrived at PSG in 2022 on a five-year contract, has been hampered by injuries and failed to establish himself at the Parc des Princes. He was not in the plans of PSG manager Luis Enrique since his arrival last summer. Mukiele, who has one cap for the French national team, leaves PSG with two Ligue 1 titles (2023 and 2024) and a Coupe de France (2024). He is hoping to revive his career at the reigning Bundesliga champions. The 26-year-old can play as a centre-back or right-back and is returning to the German top flight, having previously played for RB Leipzig between 2018 and 2022.
