A depression forming between the Iberian Peninsula and the British Isles is expected to bring cooler temperatures and potential rainfall to Portugal in the first week of September. While uncertainty remains regarding the exact levels of precipitation and wind intensity, the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) has confirmed that temperatures will decline, particularly overnight lows, with minimal to no tropical nights in the Algarve region. The IPMA expects the temperature to range from 8 to 17°C overnight and from 28 to 32°C in the south and Tejo Valley during the day, with slightly cooler temperatures in the rest of the country. On Monday, a weak cold front is forecast to pass through, leading to a 20% to 40% chance of rain in the northern region on Monday and Tuesday. The wind is also expected to increase along the western coast early in the week, although the strength remains uncertain.
