Porter County Woman Dies in I-65 Crash

A Porter County woman, Debra Bordelon, 64, died as a result of a car crash on Saturday along Interstate 65 in Jasper County, according to the Lake County Coroner’s Office. An autopsy revealed that Bordelon sustained multiple blunt force trauma injuries. The coroner’s office also confirmed the death of Deon Hawkins, 33, of Indianapolis, who was fatally shot on Monday in the 5000 block of W. 19th Place in Gary. Hawkins’ death was ruled a homicide by the coroner’s office.
