Mateusz Ponitka has reunited with coach Dejan Radonjic in Turkey, joining him at Bahcesehir after their previous stint at Panathinaikos in the 2022-23 season. The Polish guard, in an interview with ‘Blic’, expressed his admiration for Radonjic’s progress since their time together in Greece, highlighting the coach’s increased confidence and understanding of the game. Ponitka stated he appreciates playing for Radonjic, who allows players the freedom to make decisions and encourages them to reach their full potential. Despite their shared experience in Greece, Ponitka acknowledges the lack of desired results, but nonetheless, he sees their reunion as a positive step, emphasizing Radonjic’s development as a coach. Ponitka also reflected on his time playing for Zeljko Obradovic at Partizan, acknowledging the legendary coach’s immense impact on the game. While he respects Obradovic’s coaching style and the experience he gained under him, Ponitka feels he could have performed better in that role.
