A special police operation in Kottayam district, aimed at curbing drug use and sales, resulted in the arrest of 95 individuals who were wanted on warrants. The operation, which included searches of lodges, homestays, and vehicle checkpoints, also led to the registration of 226 cases related to drug offenses, including 25 under the NDPS Act, 43 under the Abkari Act, 45 under the Code of Criminal Procedure, and 113 for drunk driving. The police deployed dog squads to intensify searches in bus stations, markets, and railway stations.
