The Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN) is facing a deepening crisis as the National Executive Council (NEC) has suspended several key members, including Sunny Neji, Zaaki Azzay, and Ruggedman. The NEC’s decision follows an investigation into alleged financial irregularities and misconduct by the National Working Committee (NWC). The investigation revealed that the NWC suspended PMAN President Pretty Okafor without following proper procedures, leading to accusations of power abuse and financial misappropriation. The NEC also found evidence suggesting that the NWC had received undisclosed payments and forged signatures, further exacerbating the crisis. In response, the NEC has taken decisive action, removing key NWC members from their positions and vowing to strengthen internal governance mechanisms to prevent future incidents.
